Not all applications or image formats are suited to be printed in a large format. Below you will find a list of the applications and format types that are required to print on the RITC poster printing service.
Preferred Formats:
Adobe Illustrator - EPS Format
Adobe Photoshop- TIFF Format
Both of these applications are available as a site license from
the UMMS. If you need assistance in obtaining this software
please contact the RITC desktop support team at 734.763.7635. If you
prefer you can contact Bonnie Thomas regarding formating directly at blts@umich.edu
Why not Microsoft Powerpoint?
While easy to use and manipulate, powerpoint is a poor substitute for
an actual 'print-ready' application. Often times image formats,
resolution, and layout are not consistent from screen-to-print.
It is our recommendation that powerpoint be avoided for large format
printing. If you no alternative other than Powerpoint please contact the RITC Support Center for conversion tips.
