Not all applications or image formats are suited to be printed in a large format.  Below you will find a list of the applications and format types that are required to print on the RITC poster printing service. For poster printing call 734.936.1142.

Preferred Formats:
Adobe Illustrator - EPS Format 
Adobe Photoshop- TIFF Format

Both of these applications are available as a site license from the UMMS.  If you need assistance in obtaining this software please contact the RITC desktop support team at 734.763.7635. If you prefer you can contact Wesley Tanner regarding formating directly at wbtanner@umich.edu or 734.936.1142.

Why not Microsoft Powerpoint?
While easy to use and manipulate, Powerpoint is a poor substitute for an actual 'print-ready' application. Often times image formats, resolution, and layout are not consistent from screen-to-print.  It is our recommendation that powerpoint be avoided for large format printing. What size should I use?
Please note that our printer uses a 42 inch roll. Your poster design can be up to 42 inches in one direction. The other direction can be whatever you wish. (Please note that we measure this direction in one foot increments for billing.)
